After being elected as President back in October 2008 and being on the board of the AOP for four years I’ve now stepped down.
It’s no secret the AOP has faced challenging times, when I joined the board back in 2004 I have to admit I wondered what I’d let myself in for. Luckily I was handed the dream ticket (for me) and given the task of breathing new life into the Awards. I was able to broaden the categories back out, introduce better and accountable judging, set in place a temporary return to Sadlers Wells and was able to see entries and awards ticket tales increase year on year. A firm foundation was set in place so I hope the new management can carry on the good work.
